Is Disney Closing the Magic Kingdom/Epcot Monorail

Epcot International Festival of Arts 2018

The 2nd annual “Epcot International Festival of Arts” opened today (January 12, 2018) at Disney’s Epcot. The festival includes Art Galleries, Performances, Food Kiosks and more. This year’s festival focuses more on Disney Art more than last year. The “Epcot International Festival of Arts” runs from today through February 19, 2018. Disney Broadway Series Performances will be 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday through Monday of each festival weekend. Pieces Break Off of Blue Monorail

Monorail service at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and loop resorts was suspended on June 16, 2017 after a piece of Monorail Blue broke or fell off of the tram causing it to spark and slow to a halt.  The train had just left the Epcot Station and was heading toward the Magic Kingdom when this incident happened.  None of the passengers aboard were injured.  Reedy Creek Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and the area was shut down to visitors as Park Authorities and the Fire Department evacuated the…

Rumors are swirling that “Ellen’s Energy Adventure” in Disney World’s Epcot is getting ready to close.  Reports are that permits have been submitted with the Reedy Creek Improvement for work to be done on the wetlands and canal that are currently behind the building that houses “Ellen’s Energy Adventure”. Epcot’s Mission Space Closing for the Summer

It has been announced that Epcot’s Mission Space Attraction will be closing on June 5th for a refurbishment.  The ride is expected to reopen on August 1. No reason or details have been given for the refurb, but rumors are circulating that there are some minor tech updates to be done so that the ride would be prepared for a major change to a “Guardians of the Galaxy” ride.

The annual Epcot “Flower & Garden Festival” is currently in full swing.  Beautiful gardens, butterfly exhibits and outdoor kitchens are throughout the park and will have all of your senses in overdrive.
