These Fake Out Mickey Beignets could not be more adorable and simple to make! Warm pieces of fried Mickey shaped dough dipped in honey…the ultimate treat to enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2-6 cups canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 Roll Pillsbury French Loaf
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey warmed (for dipping)

Instructions

    • Place oil in a small-medium size saucepan filling 1/2 full. Heat oil to 350 degrees F. using a candy/kitchen thermometer.
    • Unroll French loaf into rectangle onto a floured countertop or floured parchment paper. Dip Mickey cookie cutter in flour and cut Mickey shapes out of loaf. You’ll get 8-10 using a 3 inch cutter. Place cut out pieces of dough onto a floured parchment lined plate. When oil is hot, carefully place Mickey dough, one at a time into oil. Let cook for about 60 seconds on the first side, or until golden brown. Flip using a slotted spoon and cook second side for 30-60 seconds until golden brown. Doesn’t take long, so watch carefully. When both sides are golden brown, use slotted spoon to transfer to a paper towel lined plate. Sprinkle powdered sugar over both sides of hot “beignet.” Continue cooking each Mickey “beignet” until done.
  • Place all beignets into a lunch sack, add 1/4 cup more powdered sugar, roll the top of the bag down a few times and gently shake to coat all areas of beignets. Place onto a serving plate and serve warm. Dip into a bowl of warm honey for an extra treat!
