Pop Century

Disney’s Pop Century is a Value Resort located in the Epcot Resort Area of the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL.

Pop Century opened in December of 2003 and became Disney’s fourth “Value Price” resort.

Featuring decades style theming throughout the resort, there are themed buildings for the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.  This section of the resort was called the “Classic Years”.  Originally, there was supposed to have been built the “Legendary Years” section which would be themed for the 1910’s – 1940’s.  This section was never completed due to reduction of tourism after the September 11th attacks.

The “Legendary Years” section was left abandoned and could be seen across the Generation Gap Bridge that was to connect the two sections across Hourglass Lake.  It wasn’t until 2010 when Disney announced that a new resort was to be built on the land.  The former Legendary Years section of Pop Century is now open and known at “Art of Animation Resort”.
