Trip Planning – Plane Tickets to Orlando
Hi everyone. It has been a while since I’ve posted to this blog.
We are still planning on visiting Disney World in 2020 and have done some minor research for pricing. At this point, here is where we stand…
- We are currently waiting until October 30, 2019 to book airline tickets, that is when Southwest is supposed to open flights for the time period that we are going.
- It currently looks like we will be staying OFF property for the first time in 10 years due to the cost of staying at a Disney World Resort Hotel.
- We may also be limiting the number of days that we visit the parks, again due to the prices that Disney is charging.
At this point, I am very discouraged at the cost in which this vacation is going to cost. As of right now, if I include Hotel, Airfare, Car Rental and Park Tickets, we are right around $7,000 for 7 days and 6 nights in Orlando. This is not including food, parking and other costs of being on vacation (such as boarding our 2 dogs.).
As much as I love Disney, this may be the last time that I go to the parks with my family… It has gotten way too expensive.

Disney Skyliner Opening Announced

© Courtesy Walt Disney Co. The Disney Skyliner Gondolas that everyone has been watching grow right before our eyes has announced an opening date.
The Gondolas have been built as an additional form of transportation between Hollywood Studios and Epcot to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the new Disney’s Riviera Resort (opening in December, 2019).
Disney Bloggers have been reporting on the progress of the construction since groundbreaking (see our report here) and now the 2 year long project is nearing completion.
The gondolas are decorated with various Disney characters, films and rides such as Mickey Mouse, Haunted Mansion, Finding Dory and more.
Disney Park’s Blog is reporting that the gondolas will begin operation and transport guests on September 29, 2019.
